Compassionate support for young people and the people who care for them.
Therapy
I work with children and teens experiencing a wide variety of challenges, including:
Anxiety,
Depression,
OCD,
ADHD,
Learning Disorders,
Life stressors.
I offer therapy for children and teens who are experiencing difficulties related to stress and mental health. It’s a good time to seek therapy if your child’s mental health is getting in the way of them doing the things they want to (or need to) be doing, like making friends, enjoying activities, or learning. My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and developmentally appropriate. I use evidence-based approaches, drawing on cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion focused approaches, and mindfulness.
Parents are an important part of a child’s life. I like to include parents in the process when possible. This can vary from brief check-ins at the end of appointments to parent-only sessions.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length, and begin with an initial session to gather information. For young children, the first session is typically a parent-only session, whereas older children and teens are usually present for the first session. The number of sessions varies, depending on a variety of factors.
